Hello, Hello!

I wanted to steal a moment of your time and remind you that the Foundation is currently accepting applications for the 2012 Club Grant Program. The deadline for this program is March 9, 2012, so we are looking to promote it to the Clubs in our District now!

This program awards a $500 matching grant to twenty (20) different Clubs which start a NEW charitable event/project impacting a number of children. The Club Grant Program also encourages Member participation by calling for Optimist Members to be actively involved in the event or project their Club establishes.

This is an incredible program with lots of outreach and ways to spread what Optimism is all about! Last year’s program enabled 454 Optimists to help 5,564 children and their families which is just awesome!

2011-12 Community Project Awards (CPA) rules and procedures  The Community Projects Awards (CPA) program is an annual competition that recognizes Clubs for their community service, youth and fund-raising activities.

JOOI of Reading Month begins Wednesday   Have you read any good books lately? Pick up a good book and join in the fun this February to celebrate JOOI of Reading Month.  JOOI Clubs all over will be planning events to get young people reading just for the fun of it.

  

RJ Optimist Club Speaker Felicia David Feb. 1st

The Raymond James Optimist Club (RJOC) is pleased to invite you to the RJOC February 2012 Meeting. Our guest speaker will be Felicia Davis from the Pinellas County Victims Advocacy group. She will talk about what they do and thank those that participated in RJOC's recent Back-to-School and Christmas Gift Adoption program. The meeting will be held from 12PM-1PM in the Tiered Classroom in Tower 2.

The end of the year is our busiest time by far. We held the RJ Market event at the end of November, the RJOC Christmas Gift Adoption program in December, and put on a Christmas party for the kids at Sallie House St. Pete as well in less than a month.

Your donation of time, money, or gifts is greatly appreciated. We could not have completed these events without the help of our membership and Raymond James Financial employees at large.

The Raymond James Optimist Club is a small group that is both hyper-local (most meetings & events are held on the Raymond James Corporate Headquarters campus) and international (there are 2900 Optimist Clubs worldwide). We are always looking for new people, projects, and programs to help kids. Come find out what we’re about & how you can help (again)!

Please let me know if you are attending so we can get an accurate head count. The meeting will be held from 12PM-1PM in the Tiered Classroom in Tower 2. We looking forward to seeing you Wednesday, February 1st! Bring a friend!
